Volunteer

Join our efforts! Help us build out food security in FXBG!The easiest way to help out is to use the fridges. Go to the free fridges and contribute any extra food you have and take and utilize any food that you need.If you are able, we encourage you to sign up for a cleaning shift with one or more of the fridges. Cleaning only takes about 10 mins. Each fridge has a morning and evening shift on each day. Join our discord to find out more. Open shifts can be found by clicking: FRIDGE SHIFTSWe are currently building out Food Rescue routes. Those will be posted here in the future.For all other efforts such as hosting a free fridge, installing free fridges, and building out new food rescue routes, please join our discord and meet with us during our monthly meetings! Free Fridges &Community Pantries

Give a Food. Take a Food.Free fridges and community pantries act as nodes for us to share food with each other. Sometimes you order too much food that you end up not being able to use, or you grew too many squash or cucumbers and need to hand them out! Put them in the fridge!Sometimes you need an extra ingredient for your meal or want to offset your food costs. Monthly Meeting

1st Monday of Every Month from 6pm to 8pm!We meet at the downtown Fredericksburg Library on the lower level (either room #1 or #2) at 6pm.Open to the public. You're welcome to ask questions, meet folks, and see what we're doing!

Local grocery stores, restaurants, and shops do not want to throw away their good but unsold food. Instead, we pick it up and distribute it out to those in need. Stores get a tax writeoff and save on waste fees while contributing to the food security of FXBG!We are currently building out our food rescue initatives.If you would like to join us in these efforts, please join our Discord and meet with us during our monthly meeting at the library.
